1. The Buzz Cut
With the release of the latest Coen Brothers movie ‘Hail, Caesar!,’ we reckon we’re about to see more men asking for a cool update on this classic look.
This style is usually very short at the side, with hair swept forward on the top. Remember Justin Bieber’s early version which sparked a generation of young men wearing hair swept over their faces? This is a more grown-up version of that style.
The short length makes it easy to maintain and this style looks great when you work in a little texture for a messy, understated look.
2. The Skin Fade with Quiff
Your quiff can be as tall as you like but make sure you ask for a skin fade to bring it up to date.
Wear your hair swept upwards from the face and high over the forehead in a massive quiff or even higher pompadour (a style which first rose to fame in the 1700s!)
Ask your stylist for a #2 or #3 on the sides and to fade your hair from there upwards so it gets slightly longer as it reaches your quiff.
Anything longer than shaved sides and you won’t get this look. There should still be some length on top which gives you the option of wearing the top in a quiff, slicked back or texturised.
3. The Disconnected Undercut
What is a Disconnected Undercut? This is where the sides of the hair are either cut extremely short or shaved – usually to one length all round – so you get a noticeable disconnect or contrast between the sides and the top of the hair.
Wear your hair slicked back on top or in a quiff – the style options are up to you as it’s the disconnected undercut that gives this look its quirkiness.
